SEALNet Fellowship
The SEALNet Fellowship aims to achieve a greater long-term collaboration with our local partner organizations in Southeast Asia and to further SEALNet's mission of nurturing entrepreneurial leaders for sustainable service impacts.
Process:
—All SEALNet participants from summer 2005 to 2009 are eligible to apply as teams of 2 to 4 members. At least one team member has to be a SEALNet participant from our projects from 2005 to 2009.
—Each team will submit a service project proposal to be executed in at least 9 weeks during summer 2009.
—Teams are expected to communicate with local partners to formulate ideas and submit a proposal by April 2 2009.
—Interviews and announcement of results will take place between mid to late April.
—Since this is the pioneering year for the Incubator Fellowship, only 1 winning team will be selected.
Fellowship Awards:
- A grant of US$7,500
- Mentorship from SEALNet professional mentors and co-presidents
(*) Teams are to raise funds should their budget exceed this amount. This funding can be used for team members' transportation and accommodations.
The winning proposal will encompass the following:
- Provides continuity with SEALNet 2-week summer projects of 2008 or builds foundation for future SEALNet projects
- Partners with a SEALNet local partner organization. If it's a new partner, the proposal must show the visions for future SEALNet projects
- Clear identification of issues and feasibility of solutions
- Clear plan for how 8 weeks will be spent to maximize impact
- Contribution of each individual members to the team
